As part of the National Breast Screening Programme, free breast screening services for eligible women are offered periodically in London. Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage when it may be too small to feel. Finding breast cancer early greatly increases your chances of successful treatment. Women between 50 and 70 years of age are invited for a mammogram every three years.
Eligible women at Francis Grove surgery were invited by the London Breast screening service for breast screening between May to June 2019. 158
women unfortunately did not attend for their screening. Breast screening is a very important method of detecting changes in the breast before there are any signs or symptoms and we would like to very much encourage women who have been invited but not yet attended to contact the breast screening service to arrange an appointment either via their website
or on 0203 758 2024.
If you know someone who has been invited but does not speak English as their first language, there are a range of leaflets on the London Breast Screening website
in over 14 languages.
