COVID-19 Vaccination Update

The surgery is not delivering COVID vaccinations, our Merton GP Federation is undertaking this on behalf of all practices in Merton. If you are eligible and in the cohorts that we are able to book, then we can in the majority of circumstances book you an appointment for your vaccine.

It is important to note that even when you have received your vaccines, you must continue to follow government guidance on social distancing and wearing a mask, as well as the additional measures in place in your area.

If you have not yet been invited for your COVID vaccination and you are over 50 or have an underlying health conditions that meets the vaccination group 6 criteria please do contact us to arrange your appointment. Please contact us using our Contact the Practice form.

If you are in other age groups the NHS will let you know when it is your turn to have it. We know lots of people are eager to have the vaccine, but we are asking please wait to be called, our receptionists are unable to book appointments for this and it will be unlikely that they can answer any questions about this at the current time. Please look for updates on our website.

Need your second dose before the 11-12 weeks as is the current timeframe?

Requests for early second dose appointments need to be escalated to Senior clinicians in the borough, along with relevant evidence to determine if the request meets the current strict criteria for being able to bring forward a second dose. This is not something the surgery is able to decide.

Pregnant? Considering the COVID vaccine?

Please read this information below from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Worried about have AZ and the risk of Blood clots?

Please see the information on the government website about this issue.

Household contact of someone who is immunosuppressed?

Some patients whom are immunosuppressed will receive a letter from their GP practice to advise them that their household contacts are eligible for the COVID vaccination. The practice will require evidence that is outlined in the letter for example of living at the same address, in order to be able to book the vaccination.

Further information about the COVID vaccination programme can be found on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine page on the NHS website.
