Merton Special Educational Needs Information, Advice and Support Service (MIASS)Carers First Merton
Carers First was established in Tonbridge in 1991, by carers who wanted to help others in a similar situation. Today, Carers First works with thousands of unpaid carers, providing practical information and support; making it easier for them to continue living their lives to the fullest.
We also actively work with other organisations to offer direct support to carers and to provide an opportunity for carers to help shape national conversations and influence policy change.

An emergency plan ensures that the person you care for will continue to receive care if you are suddenly and temporarily unavailable. An emergency situation could be an unexpected childcare issue, a period of illness, travel disruption, or even a stay in hospital. No matter what the cause, if you’re unable to be there to care, your emergency plan ensures you’ve got it covered.
Please download and complete the Carers Emergency Plan template below and send it or email it to the practice. You can also come into the surgery and ask the reception team to print a copy for you.
