We are aware of concerns regarding a potential Meningitis B outbreak. At present, we have not received updated guidance from NHS England regarding any changes to the current vaccination programme.
Who can receive the MenB vaccine?
The MenB vaccine is currently offered routinely to infants only as part of the NHS childhood vaccination schedule.
- It is not routinely available for patients over 1 year old
- Children who have already had their 2nd birthday are not eligible under the routine programme
Exceptions
- If you have received a letter from NHS England, we may be able to offer the vaccination
- You must bring this letter to your appointment
- Our nursing team are required to verify the letter before administering the vaccine
